Vanden High football fans were anxiously awaiting a breakout performance from lanky college-bound receiver Chris Broadnax on Friday, Nov. 27 but the moment never came.

Instead, Oakdale defensive back Nate Madsen did a stellar job limiting Broadnax’s production, despite several throws his way. For his efforts, Madsen picks up Athlete of the Week honors from The Leader.

A senior, Madsen pulled down two interceptions in the 56-14 win, and ran one back 30 yards for a touchdown with 10:59 remaining in the second quarter for a 21-0 Mustangs lead.

Madsen’s play has been a huge part of Oakdale’s success all season.
